our moon ☽
the moon’s many phases can be seen in our night sky. i hope they remind you to embrace every phase of your own life as well. some will be cyclical in nature and come back around. some are as rare as the rarest lunar event and may only occur once in a lifetime. all should be honored and appreciated for what they are: passing phases. just because you feel it, doesn’t make it so. i’m not going to poorly paraphrase a rumi poem, i promise. i just want to remind you of perspective and the impermanence of all feelings: light, deep, good, bad, ugly, uncomfortable, etc.
in astrology, your moon sign represents your most emotional, inner self. depending on the sign and the element associated with it, you may be more reactive (fire), more detached (air), more grounded (earth), or more deeply feeling (water) in nature.
in freudian psychology, the id is 1-of-3 components of our internal consciousness. the id is often compared to child-like impulsiveness in a negative way. no, we can’t go around grabbing everything we want in life without hesitation. but i think we should be able to at least name the things that make us want to grab without hesitation. what ignites your inner child? can you channel that child-like energy in to something fulfilling? depending on your moon sign, your inner child may need more nurturing, more boundaries, or more freedom.
