dark matter χ

if you spend your whole life looking for it, you’ll never see it in action. this is true for theoretical dark matter and for love.

dark matter is a theory which accounts for the gravitational dynamics exhibited by objects in space when there is is a lack of observable mass to otherwise explain the object’s movement. in other words, when the math doesn’t check out to fully explain how and why objects move in relation to one another in space, the theory of dark matter comes into play. most notably, this theory explains how galaxies and other systems remain bound to one another despite the equally widely accepted theory of dark energy (the universe’s constant and limitless expansion).

there is evidence to be found, sure. but part of you just has to believe it’s there, holding everything together when your energy is required elsewhere.

any other forces you can think of that are not visible, usually not fully explainable, and that definitely account for mostly all of human behavior… anything come to mind? please rewatch “interstellar” when you have the chance… ❦
